In 2011, Peter Stoltzman is the Faculty Director of the Stanford Jazz Workshop's Jazz Camp.  For more info, visit stanfordjazz.org.
Peter draws on 15 years of teaching experience,
his work for Young Audiences and other community-based programs, his studies in Music in Education at New England Conservatory, and doctoral work in Music and Human Learning at the University of Texas, to tailor educational music programs and curricula. 

            

Stoltzman designs his programs and classes to:

• Engage and inspire students with accessible, beautiful, and exciting music

• Encourage and facilitate direct participation in music-making through audience/class participation and discussion

• Catalyze intrinsic motivation with successful and meaningful musical experiences


• Illuminate key aspects of music making, including preparation, intention and attention, interaction, expressivity, and instrumental execution

• Address key aspects of life in the music industry, including flexibility, getting a day job (or not), dealing with success and failure, envisioning and setting goals
